The Redwood City Education Foundation (RCEF) is the only district-wide organization that raises money to support essential programs for every student of every Redwood City public elementary school.
As you know, our governor has proposed unprecedented cuts to education funding for the upcoming year. This is on top of cuts made long ago that stripped essential subjects out of our of children’s school day, subjects -- such as music, art, and PE -- that have been proven to boost student achievement.
Without the RCEF, many of our children would never benefit from music instruction, Outdoor Education science education, or health/wellness education. Now, more than ever, is the time to come together and financially help our local schools so we can continue to provide, and expand, these critical enrichment activities.
RCEF is hosting Benefit for A Brighter Future on April 25, 2008, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Pacific Athletic Club. All proceeds will go to supporting Music for Learning, Outdoor Education, and our district Wellness Coordinator.
